Over the course of his career spanning 25 years, he has founded several companies operating in diverse sectors including computer peripherals, technology & financial services with a combined revenue of over Rs.500 Crs. and with Asset Under Management (AUM) of Rs.1100 Crs.
Gopal was a Board member in Great Lakes Institute of Management and IFMR. Gopal is an alumni of the Stephen M. Ross, School of Business, University of Michigan and he plays an active role in the school’s initiatives. He is also an Advisory Board Member of CKP Center at Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA).
Gopal was the Chairman of the “Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)” Tamil Nadu State Council for the fiscal year ‘07-‘08. He was also the Chairman of CII National Committee for Private Equity & Venture Capital for the fiscal year ’10-‘11.
A passionate entrepreneur, he is also actively involved in the promotion of Entrepreneurship as an angel investor. He is associated with Chennai Angels as well as TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) where he provides guidance to the budding entrepreneurs on incubating businesses.

Paddy started his career in 1995 and has experience spanning private equity, entrepreneurship & investment banking, and a track record of driving investments, portfolio management and divestments.
Paddy joined Tata Capital in February 2011 after having previously worked at Temasek Holdings, most recently as the Managing Director - India. He was part of Temasek’s founding team in India and also led some global special projects. Prior to Temasek, Paddy worked at ICICI Venture prior to which he had an entrepreneurial stint as a founding team member and President of an e-learning company which operated under the ‘eGurucool’ brand. He has also served on several corporate boards including select Tata companies.
Paddy secured his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and graduated from the Computer Science Engineering program of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (Pilani), India.
Rajat Tandon joins as the President of IVCA, he was part of the leadership team at NASSCOM, the Indian IT and ITES/BPO body. As Vice President, he lead NASSCOM’s 10,000 Startups initiative, supporting technology startups in India. He is very passionate about creating value for entrepreneurs, funding partners and the ecosystem.
Rajat has had an early stint as an entrepreneur and an extensive corporate experience in the IT & Telecom and Location services. Over the past 25 years, Rajat has worked in various positions, ranging from technical support, sales leadership, service delivery to strategic initiatives at Siemens, Nortel, Nokia (NAVTEQ).
In the startups sector, Rajat is extensively networked, having worked with most leaders in the industry. His knowledge of the industry, its constituents, successes, opportunities and challenges is high. He is also deeply connected with the ecosystem around the industry.
Rajat is a Post Graduate Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, underpinned by a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Pune University.
CEO, Aditya Birla Private Equity
Before recently taking over as the CEO of the Aditya Birla Private Equity, Mr. D Muthukumaran was in Group Corporate Finance at the Aditya Birla Group for 12 years, prior to which he was in an international investment bank for a year and in a Big 4 Accounting firm for 8 years.
Muthukumaran has specialized in business strategy, portfolio management, identifying value creating opportunities, fund raising in debt and equity capital markets, structured finance, leverage buy-outs, private equity, regulatory and tax structuring and the full cycle of acquisitions. At the Group Corporate Finance at the Aditya Birla Group, Muthukumaran was driving Mergers and acquisitions and long term capital raising across the businesses, Group investors relations and Chairman MIS.
Aditya Birla Group has successfully executed over two dozen and evaluated many more acquisitions, divestitures and other corporate finance transactions in most of which Muthukumaran has played a key role. Aditya Birla Group is driven by the long term value creating strategy, presence across value chain, market leadership, cost competitiveness, innovation and free cash generation.
Both in the Investment Bank and in the Big 4 firm, he worked in the full cycle of M &A – Ideation, execution, business analysis, due diligence, valuation, negotiations, financing and deal structuring.

Managing Director and Co, Head, Carlyle Asia
Shankar Narayanan is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Carlyle Asia Growth Partners. He is based in Mumbai.
Mr. Narayanan has been in private equity since 1993 with the unique distinction of having run some of the investee companies as a CEO. He has on-the-ground work experience across the country which allows him to have a very practical perspective of growth prospects and challenges across industries.
Since joining Carlyle in 2004, Mr. Narayanan has led and advised Carlyle on key investments such as Claris Lifesciences, Elitecore Technologies, Repco Home Finance, Tirumala Milk Products, Visen Industries, Value and Budget Housing Corporation, Edelweiss Financial Services, South Indian Bank, Infotech Enterprises, Newgen Knowledge Works, etc. Mr. Narayanan has also successfully delivered exits from Tirumala Milk Products, Cyberoam Technologies and Repco Home Finance (IPO). Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Narayanan spent six years at Hathway Investments in Mumbai and during that time served as Managing Director and CEO. He was also with Deutsche Bank Capital Partners, based in Hong Kong, as a Director covering South Asia and India. He was involved in a number of prominent private equity investments in India, including Johnson Tiles, Exide Industries, Hathway Cable, Asianet Satellite Communications, Pushpa Polymers, Tata Infomedia and AFL Limited and served on the Board of Directors of all these Companies.
Prior to Hathway Investments, Mr. Shankar Narayanan worked at Citibank in Mumbai. Mr. Narayanan received a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from XLRI Jamshedpur where he was a Gold Medalist standing first in the graduating class in the area of Finance & Accounting and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.

Senior Partner, Barings Private Equity
Munish is a Senior Partner with Barings Private Equity Partners India since May 2007. He heads the investment practice in Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) and also serves as an Operating Partner. He has over 26 years of global experience in establishing and building businesses in the BFSI industry, having worked with Citigroup for 16 years as Managing Director across major markets (London, Europe, Singapore, Middle East, Africa, India). His roles ranged from global transaction services, risk management to asset-based finance, culminating as the Regional Head of SME and Retail mass markets for Asia Pacific. After his tenure at Citigroup in 2005, he joined a start-up bank in India called Yes Bank where as integral part of the management team and President of Business Banking, he was instrumental in building the mid-market business which aided the bank IPO. At present he serves as the Chairman of Infrasoft Tech Limited and as director on the board of RMZ Corp, Inditrade Capital, JRG Fincorp and Proactive Data Systems. Mr. Srinath Srinivasan,is the Chief Executive Officer of Oman India Joint Investment Fund (OIJIF). He has 24 years of experience including 15 years in Private Equity. Vikram Desai (39) is Director of CPPIB India Advisors Private Limited, the Indian Advisor to the Toronto-based Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), which invests C$269 billion of assets of the Canada Pension Plan on behalf of over 18 million Canadian contributors and beneficiaries.
Vikram joins CPPIB from VSG Capital Advisors, where we was responsible for launching CPPIB’s Mumbai office and building CPPIB’s India business by originating, evaluating, negotiating, and structuring transactions across asset classes. He has been closely involved in the Canada Pension Plan’s investment commitments of over $1.4BN in India - including CPPIB’s investment into Kotak Mahindra Bank, L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited (the unlisted roads/infrastructure subsidiary of Larsen and Toubro Ltd), the formation of CPPIB’s real estate joint ventures with Piramal Enterprises (residential) and the Shapoorji Pallonji Group (commercial), fund investments and numerous co-investments alongside CPPIB’s local General Partner’s.
Prior to CPPIB/VSG, Vikram served as Managing Director / Managing Member of the Sparta Group LLC, a private investment office where he invested globally across asset classes and in individual securities, delivering investment returns in the top decile of comparably sized endowments and foundations with capital of over $500MM.

Mr. Sinha is the Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of IDFC Alternatives. He has over twenty four years of international experience in private equity, project finance, corporate finance and investment banking.
In his role as the Managing Partner & CEO, Mr. Sinha is responsible for the overall performance of the IDFC Alternatives platform. He currently has direct responsibility for performance of investments under the infrastructure asset class and for overall growth of the platform through new initiatives/asset classes.

B.V. Krishnan joined KKR in 2009 and looks after KKR’s Alternative Credit and Capital Markets business in India.
Previously, B.V. Krishnan was at Citigroup, where he worked as Director, Head of Structured Products for Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities and Equity Capital Markets. He has a degree in Chartered Accountancy from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Chennai. B.V. Krishnan has experience in corporate finance, capital markets and in structuring capital raising solutions. He has had the experience of working with regulators, including SEBI, in developing the local securities markets. He has worked across multiple geographies in India, wherein he has managed senior client relationships across industries, and diligenced and managed portfolios for several years while part of the Corporate Bank at Citi.

Mr. Purker has over 27 years of experience in financial markets. He has a deep and varied experience in Indian capital markets, across both equity (including listed as well as unlisted equities) and debt capital products. He joined ICICI Venture in August 2009 and has been a member of the leadership team at ICICI Venture since then. He has served on the Board of Directors of ICICI Venture since 2010 initially as an Executive Director and since December 2015, as the Managing Director and CEO of the company. In this capacity, he chairs the Investment Committees of various funds managed by the Company. He also co-heads the Private Equity practice of ICICI Venture and chairs the Investment Committees of all the PE funds managed or advised by the company. He is a member of the Boards of some of the portfolio companies of ICICI Venture managed funds and is closely involved with the strategic growth plans of these companies. He has played a key role in the strong exits performance of ICICI Venture’s PE practice over the past 6 years (over 33 exits worth USD 855 million using diverse exit strategies) as well as the creation of the high quality portfolio of PE investments made by the company during this period.
Prior to joining ICICI Venture, Mr. Purker was at Nomura India and Lehman Brothers India as the Managing Director & Head – Global Finance for India in the Investment Banking Division. Prior to that he spent over 5 years with ICICI Bank, where his last role was Senior General Manager and Head – Global Principal Investment & Trading Group. He has previously also worked with institutions such as Citibank, Peregrine and BNP.

Ravi Gururaj is a serial entrepreneur with 5 ventures and 2 public exits, an angel investor, a mentor to numerous entrepreneurs, technology executive, and ecosystem evangelist. As the Founder & CEO of QikPod.com, he is building innovative last mile logistics solutions for the eCommerce industry. QikPod closed a $9m first funding in February 2016 which was led by Flipkart, Accel Partners, Foxconn, Delhivery and leading angel investors.
Ravi is an active angel investor with a portfolio of 25+ innovative companies across the SaaS, consumer web, cloud infrastructure, mobile app, and big data /analytics segments. Over his 25 year career, Ravi has held wide ranging roles including promoting an STPI unit exporting software components out of India, product management at Intel, served as Managing Director of the Trilogy Software's India engineering center, and founded multiple successful software product ventures two of which were acquired by public NASDAQ listed US technology companies.
Ravi is a member of the NASSCOM Executive Council, chairs the NASSCOM Product Council and co-hosts the NASSCOM Product Conclave.
