Mr. Ajay Kumar Kapur is a Graduate in Industrial Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and currently holds the post of Deputy Managing Director, Small Industries Development Bank of India [SIDBI], the apex Indian financial institution for financing and development of micro, small and medium enterprises. SIDBI provides assistance to MSMEs directly through its own network as well as indirectly through banks, NBFCs, MFIs and other intermediaries. SIDBI has played a key role in establishment and growth of venture capital industry in India and has committed over `3,200 crore to around 110 funds. It is managing the ambitious `10,000 crore Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS) announced by Government of India as part of Prime Minister’s Startup Action Plan.
Mr. Kapur started his career in 1980 in the private sector, switched over to development banking by joining Industrial Development Bank of India in 1985 and then moved to SIDBI in 1990 and had worked in various capacities in diverse areas such as branch operations, bills discounting, factoring, receivable finance, business process reengineering, HR, etc.

Mr. B. Prasanna is a Group Executive and head of the Global Markets group and Proprietary Trading in ICICI bank. B V Krishnan (Mumbai) joined KKR in 2009 and serves as the Head of KKR's third party credit investing business and capital markets business in India. Karthik Prabhakar is Director and Head of Fundraising, at IDG Ventures India Advisors. He has been part of the Indian tech ecosystem since 2005 with experience spanning engineering, rapid prototyping, marketing, fundraising, investment advisory and portfolio management. Karthik was an active part of the team advising on the exit from investment in Manthan Systems.

Prior to joining Kroll, Tarun was Senior Director at CRISIL, a subsidiary of Standard & Poor’s, where he played a critical role in the transformation of the company from a domestic rating agency to a global analytical company. At CRISIL, he had a demonstrated track record of incubating and scaling profitable businesses both in India and international markets. Previously, Tarun worked in SBI Capital Markets, a leading investment bank, as part of their Financial Engineering Group responsible for structuring and selling complex financial instruments.

Varun Gupta is the country managing director for India. He set up the firm’s operations in India and is responsible for its overall growth and strategic direction. Additionally, he oversees the Southeast Asia and Japan operations of the firm.
Varun has over 20 years of experience in valuation and financial advisory services. He has advised clients across a wide range of industries including IT/ ITES, energy (conventional as well as renewable), pharma and life sciences, infrastructure, internet and eCommerce, telecom, media and entertainment, etc. He has provided valuation opinions for purposes as diverse as financial reporting, strategic decision making, tax planning, restructuring, collateralization, transfer pricing, litigation and dispute resolution. Besides valuation of businesses in general, he specializes in valuation of early stage companies, intangible assets (e.g., brands, intellectual property, IPR&D, etc.) complex financial instruments, contingent consideration and ESOPs. Vikram Desai established the Mumbai office for the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) in 2015, and is responsible for CPPIB’s India office - working across CPPIB’s global investment teams to originate and execute investments in India. Vikram has been involved in originating, structuring and executing CPPIB’s India transactions (in excess of C$3.5 BN) including significant investments into Kotak Mahindra Bank, formation of real estate joint ventures with Shapoorji Pallonji and Ajay Piramal, FDI-investment into Larsen & Toubro IDPL and numerous co-investment opportunities alongside CPPIB’s General Partner (GP) relationships. Vikram joined CPPIB from VSG Capital Advisors, CPPIB’s Senior Advisor for India.
Vikram’s twenty years of experience includes M&A at the CSFB Technology Group, private equity at FFL Partners and serving as Managing Member of the Sparta Group LLC, the private family investment office for the Founders of Infosys and Cascade Communications. At Sparta, Vikram invested a portfolio in excess of $500 million globally across asset classes delivering top decile results.
